Turdus migraytorius

A very common 9 – 11 inch bird, native to Virginia all year round.

Males have dark head and tail with a grey upperside, a white eye-ring and rusty-orange breast and flanks.

Females are similar but lack the dark head and tail and have a duller breast and flanks.

Juveniles are similar to females but have a brown back and spotted breast.

American Robins eat insects, fruit, berries and worms. They will visit suet and mealworm feeders and occasionally seed feeders.
