Poecile Carolinensis
A very common, 5 inch bird, native to Virginia all year round.
Males are mostly gray with a black cap and chin, white throat and cheek and tan belly.
Females and juveniles are the same.
Carolina Chickadee’s eat insects, fruit, suet and a few seeds. They love sunflower seeds and peanuts.
Chickadees are very curious too. Whistle when you see one and it will likely come and check you out.
